EBay leapt into the Merger Monday fray with an agreement to buy e-commerce company GSI Commerce for $2.4 billion. GSI offers an umbrella of e-commerce services, including powering the back end services and Internet shopping operations for more than 100 retailers, including for Toys “R” Us and sports leagues such as the National Football League.
