Dallas was today hit by a tornado that touched down near Cleburne, Texas. The storm system is also bringing torrential rain that has prompted authorities to issue flood warnings across 17 states.
Storms are expected to pass across the southern Great Plains, the lower Mississippi Valley, the Tennessee Valley and the gulf Coast. In April so far, 39 people have died in tornadoes.
