British jazz pianist George shearing has sadly passed away at age 91. He is best remembered for composing “Lullaby of Birdland”. Shearing died as a result of congestive heart failure yesterday in New York.
George Shearing has a long career, and he kept on producing music until he was in his 80s. He worked with great singers such as Nat King Cole and Mel Torme with whom he created beautiful music.
