Hickory, a black haired 5-year-old Scottish deerhound was crowned Tuesday the Best in Show at the Westminster Dog Show 2011. Hickory had to compete with strong opponents in the final round a Portuguese water dog, a black cocker spaniel and a smooth fox terrier.
This is a breed that is rare to see in the U.S. and as a matter of fact, this has been the first time a Scottish deerhound has been named the top dog at the Westminster Dog Show. Hickory’s handler Angela Lloyd said:
